Are you looking for a natural, relaxed photoghraphy session with your newborn, in your own home? My newborn photography sessions focus on natural, candid & real moments that you share together, they that will feel authentic & emotional when you look back at your images, especially being taken in your own home.
I will visit your home during daylight hours, utilising soft and natural light where possible, to create a set of images celebrating those the bond between you all. These sessions will last approx. 1.5 hours, there maybe even be time to gab a few outdoor images locally to your home, if the weather allows.
You really don’t need to do much preparation for the photoshoot. I will probably be looking for some great natural daylight, maybe in your main bedroom. So its always worthwile having a little tidy up before the session begins. My aim will be keep this as relaxed & unintrusive as possible. Don’t worry about trying to get them to sleep or feed at a certain time. It's hard enough just being new parents! You won't have much routine at all in those early days, so I will always try to work around you. There will be some images focusing on the details, hands, feet etc., so small spaces can work equally as well as larger rooms.
It is also worth considering choosing the outfits you would like your baby to wear, before the session. Often natural light images work well in black & white, therefore neutral colours/outfits work well. Shooting detail images etc., where your baby's skin is on show, it maybe worth turning the heating up for a while, just to keep the little ones warm... As with everything involved with newborns, we will always just go with the flow....
